Fellow comedians and others are rallying around Tiffany Haddish after the actress and stand-up comic admitted to a disastrous New Year's Eve show in which patrons heckled her and walked out.

Following widespread reports of her poor performance Monday at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, Florida, the 39-year-old Haddish gamely tweeted Tuesday, "Yes this happened. I wish it was better Miami. I prayed on it and I have a strong feeling this will never happened [sic] again."

"Having a bad set is part of being a comic," tweeted a supportive Damon Wayans. "You're dope." Chris D'Elia assured her, "Happens to the best of us!" The musician Questlove wrote, "Failure is a part of growth and lessons get learned. The crowd will speak on this night forever so they had an experience, and you are the wiser. Not end of world. You'll shine more in 2019."

Patton Oswalt shared a similar experience. "5 years ago I did a set at the Improv where 1/2 the audience walked out — 'cuz the comic before me killed SO hard they wanted to go to the bar and say hi to him," he tweeted. "It's okay, and this will be a blip on what I promise will be a brilliant career. KEEP GOING."

Activist and #OscarsSoWhite creator April Reign offered a larger perspective, writing, "There are way too many mediocre white men THRIVING for y'all to be coming down hard on Tiffany Haddish."

And Kathy Griffin tweeted, "This is the price of fame when you're a comic. I was so lucky that there wasn't a Snapchat/IG [Instagram] when I was starting out on my first big tour. No REAL comic never bombs," she said before adding, "You are a hilarious, incredible talent @TiffanyHaddish and I can't wait to see you live! Ignore the haters!"

Haddish the morning before the show, for which tickets cost $49.50 to $250 plus fees, had posted a long, rambling Instagram video. "I ain't gonna lie to you, I been out here in Miami since yesterday night or early this morning and I partied. . . . I went to bed at 7," she concedes. After forgetting the name of the venue, she adds unsteadily that, "Ciroc [vodka] is still in my system."

Haddish is next scheduled to perform Jan. 25-26 at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
