Tyra Banks, Erik Asla break up after five years together, report says

Model-turned-producer Tyra Banks and her boyfriend, photographer Erik Asla, reportedly have broken up after five years together.
Us Weekly said Tuesday that “America’s Next Top Model” creator and “America’s Got Talent” host Banks, 43, and the Norwegian-born Asla had ended their relationship amicably. Neither has commented on social media and Banks’ representative did not respond to a request for comment.
The couple welcomed a son, York Banks Asla, via gestational surrogacy, last year. Banks gave no specific date for the birth but announced it on Instagram on Jan. 27, 2016, saying, “He’s got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik’s mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone.”
Banks added in a statement to People magazine at the time, “We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy,” adding, “The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. . . . As I gaze into the beautiful eyes of my son, I think about all the people who struggle with fertility or carrying a child and continue to pray for them every day.”
Asla, who began as an assistant to iconic fashion photographer Herb Ritts and went on to shoot for Allure, Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire and other magazines, additionally is the father of three daughters.
Banks’ most recent social-media posts addressed Sunday’s mass murder by a gunman in Las Vegas. “My heart is with the victims, friends and families that have experienced devastating tragedy in Las Vegas,” she tweeted that day. An hour later, without mentioning the killings, she wrote, “Hug those you adore. Embrace those you don’t. Let’s spread love when faced with so much hate.”
