Nearly six months after filing for legal separation, actor and "Food Network" star Valerie Bertinelli has filed to divorce her second husband, entrepreneur Tom Vitale.
People magazine on Monday, citing Los Angeles Superior Court records it had obtained, said Bertinelli, 62, filed an amended petition Thursday. The document lists "irreconcilable differences" as the reason and says the couple will abide by a prenuptial agreement. Bertinelli had filed the separation papers on Nov. 24.

The "One Day at a Time" and "Hot in Cleveland” star had met Vitale, 60, then divorced with four children, in 2004 after being introduced by her brother, Patrick, People said. They became engaged in Italy in 2010 and married on New Year's Day 2011, at their Malibu, California, home.

Neither Bertinelli nor Vitale have commented publicly. On Monday, Bertinelli posted a video clip on Instagram and Facebook, responding to a fan who had written, "I'm worried about you…. you seems [sic] so distressed and sad." The actor replied, "I'm just having a very [long groan] bad day. But you know what? Sometimes we have bad days and then we get over them and then there's a good a day. I'm looking forward to the good day. ... Right? Am I right? Am I right?"

Vitale frequently appeared as himself on Bertinelli's Food Network series "Valerie's Home Cooking" (2015-present), which also sometimes had on two of his daughters, Andie Vitale and film-industry costumer Angela Vitale ("Father Stu”). He most recently was an account manager with the Los Angeles content-creation company Orange Comet, but is no longer listed on its website, and in 2011 had been co-founder and CEO of the now-defunct e-commerce company Veebow.

Bertinelli had been married to the late guitar legend Eddie Van Helen from 1981 until separating in 2000 and finalizing their divorce in 2007. Their son Wolfgang Van Halen, 31, is a rock musician who last year earned a Grammy Award nomination for best rock song as writer of his band Mammoth WVH's "Distance."
