Vanessa Hudgens to host MTV Movie & TV Awards
"High School Musical" sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens will host this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards, airing live on June 5.
The cable network said Monday that the appointment follows her success hosting the inaugural "MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time" special in 2020.
"I'm ba-aack!" said a giggling Hudgens, 33, on Instagram Stories, where posts cycle out after 24 hours. "Hi, it's your girl, Vanessa Hudgens, and I'm hosting this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards," she continued, announcing the show's airdate. "Trust me, you don't want to miss this."
The singer-actor, who made her Broadway debut in 2015 in a revival of the musical "Gigi," has starred in both light and dramatic films, including "tick, tick... BOOM!" (2021), "Bad Boys for Life" (2020), "Spring Breakers" (2012) and "Thirteen" (2003).
