Mister Rogers gets a remix in PBS 'Garden of your Mind' video

Mister Rogers is on his way to becoming the next big viral video.

The sweater-vest clad PBS icon is the subject of a new promotional video for the station.

The three-minute YouTube video posted by PBS Digital Studios on Thursday opens with an old Fred Rogers clip about cassettes and tape players and then launches into a mesh of scenes from the show.

“Mister Rogers' Neighborhood” was a PBS staple from 1968-2001. Rogers died in 2003.

The station wrote in the YouTube video description that the video was a “chance to pay tribute to one of our heroes.”

PBS recruited mashup artist John D. Boswell, aka melodysheep, to produce the somewhat creepy remix, which was posted online on Wednesday and has had more than 500,000 views online since.
