Edward Norton to be honored at Hamptons International Film Festival

Edward Norton, the Oscar-nominated star of “Birdman,” “Primal Fear” and “American History X,” will receive a career achievement award at this year’s Hamptons International Film Festival.
Norton will be honored at a dinner Oct. 9 at Bridgehampton’s Topping Rose House restaurant. Tickets are available to the public at $500 per person.
Norton earned an Oscar nomination for his first feature film, “Primal Fear” (1996), in which he played a mentally unstable former altar boy. Although Norton became known for such intense roles as a violent skinhead in “American History X” and the punch-drunk hero of “Fight Club,” he also starred in Woody Allen’s musical “Everyone Says I Love You” and played the title role in “The Incredible Hulk.” He can be heard as the voice of a bagel in this year’s animated farce “Sausage Party.”
The festival will also salute Norton as the founder of CrowdRise, a philanthropic crowdfunding website that has reportedly raised more than $500 million for nonprofit organizations and charities.
The Hamptons International Film Festival will take place Oct. 6 through 10 at venues throughout the East End.
