THE DEAL The actor recently seen in “Everest” and “Southpaw” will star in a $50-million Korean film produced by Netflix and Brad Pitt’s Plan B company, according to Deadline. “Okja,” which has been described in some reports as a monster movie, will also star Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, Bill Nighy and Kelly Macdonald. It will be directed by Bong Joon-Ho, whose sci-fi epic “Snowpiercer” became a critical hit last year.

THE MOVIE “Taliban Shuffle” adaptation

THE DEAL Fey’s new comedy for Paramount Pictures has been slated for release March 4, according to TheWrap.com. The movie, currently untitled but based on Kim Barker’s memoir, “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan,” stars Fey as a journalist trying to navigate her way through those two countries. The film is directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, and co-stars Margot Robbie, Billy Bob Thornton and Alfred Molina.

THE MOVIE “Friends and Romans”

THE DEAL Gregg Greenberg, a Jericho High School graduate and screenwriter, will attend a screening of his new film “Friends and Romans” on Long Island on Friday. The modestly budgeted comedy, about a group of Italian-Americans who decide to put on a Shakespeare play, out-grossed the James Bond thriller “Spectre” Saturday and Sunday at Roslyn Cinemas and will be held over there for an additional week. “Friends and Romans” was directed by Christopher Kublan, also a Jericho High alum, who is promoting the film in California.
