After an afternoon Wednesday with as many plot twists and turns as a Hollywood screenplay, actress Lindsay Lohan is back on the planned film biography of Mafia-family chief John Gotti -- and is doing another picture for the same producer as well.

"Fiore Films is extremely pleased that Lindsay will be doing not only 'Gotti: Three Generations,' " but also 'Mob Street,' which is being written by Chazz Palminteri," production company spokesman Steve Honig told Newsday. "It's a two-picture deal, and we're very excited to be working with Lindsay Lohan."

Lohan, 24, will not play Gotti's daughter Victoria, as was originally being negotiated, but Kim Gotti, the wife of the don's son, John A. Gotti.

"I'm really excited to be back on set and [to] clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do," Lohan told The Associated Press Wednesday.

As for her role in actor-filmmaker Palminteri's "Mob Street": "The screenplay is still being written," said Honig, formerly of Lynbrook.

Earlier yesterday, talks between Lohan and Fiore Films had broken off, with producer Marc Fiore telling People magazine: "We are not talking any further about Lindsay playing Victoria. . . . She is no longer being considered. The talks have stopped. We are going to meet with other people" for the role.

Dina Lohan of Merrick, Lindsay Lohan's mother and manager, did not return a request to comment.

The film, which Fiore, star John Travolta, director Nick Cassavetes and John A. Gotti had introduced to much fanfare at a Manhattan news conference on April 12, lost Cassavetes earlier this week, with scheduling issues blamed as the culprit. Production on "Gotti: Three Generations" remains scheduled to begin in New York City this October.

"We are hoping to announce a new director and additional cast members shortly," Honig said.
