Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o is in final negotiations to star in "A Quiet Place: Day One," a spinoff film in Paramount Pictures' "A Quiet Place" franchise.
Newsday has confirmed reports that Nyong'o, 39, who reprises the role of Nakia in the upcoming "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," would star in the film directed by Michael Sarnoski and set for release March 8, 2024. No plot synopsis or other cast details were available.
Nyong'o, who won best supporting actress for "12 Years a Slave" (2013), has not commented on social media. Director and cowriter John Krasinski's science-fiction horror hit "A Quiet Place" (2018), in which he starred opposite his actor wife Emily Blunt, spawned a 2020 sequel and an upcoming third film scheduled for 2025.
