Singer-actress Mariah Carey is in talks to join "The Lego Batman Movie" as the voice of Commissioner Gordon, according to Deadline.com.
The animated film, a spinoff of Warner Bros.' "The Lego Movie," already includes Will Arnett reprising his role as Batman, along with Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred the Butler and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker.
Carey's five-octave voice could be put in service of a traditionally male character played by Pat Hingle in Tim Burton's "Batman" films, Gary Oldman in Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" movies and Neil Hamilton in the television series from the late 1960s.
No word on whether Carey will sing in the role.
