THE MOVIE "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Undead"

THE DEAL Featured at last year's Stony Brook Film Festival, this comedy starring Huntington-born Ralph Macchio as a mobster and runway model Devon Aoki as his moll has been picked up for distribution by Indican Pictures, based in Hollywood. The release date is June 11. The plot centers on a young stage director (Jake Hoffman) who unwittingly teams up with a vampire playwright (John Ventimiglia). Jeremy Sisto, of NBC's "Law & Order," shows up as a bumbling detective; Sean Lennon provides the score.

THE MOVIE "Win Win"

THE DEAL The actor has been hanging out on Long Island to shoot this comedy-drama from writer-director Tom McCarthy ("The Visitor") about a struggling attorney who winds up caring for a client's stray grandson. Locations have included St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Rockville Centre, the LIRR in Port Washington, Locust Valley High School and Lawrence High School, according to the Nassau County Film Office. Shooting will continue for another few weeks.

 

THE MOVIE "Longford"

THE DEAL Jim Broadbent plays Francis Pakenham, 7th Earl of Longford, who outraged Britain in the 1970s by working for the release of convicted child-murderer Myra Hindley after she supposedly repented. A screening, sponsored by local churches and temples, will be followed by an interfaith discussion. The film is part of the Festival of Films and Faith, presented by the Greater Port Jefferson-Northern Brookhaven Arts Council.
