Billy Joel has added two concerts to his upcoming Madison Square Garden run on the strength of interest in his first show.

Joel will now play on Feb. 3 and March 21, as well as the previously announced Jan. 27. Tickets for all three shows are $64.50-$124.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through Ticketmaster. Citi Private Pass cardholders can currently buy pre-sale tickets.

Joel said he is trying to space concerts further apart than he has in the past so that it gives his throat more time to recover after a show.

"It takes at least three days between gigs for my throat to heal," he said. "It's just part of the physiology of singing. My voice is lower now, but I'm still singing in very high keys."

Regular band members saxophonist Mark Rivera and bassist Andy Cichon will return to the lineup for the Garden shows, while newcomer Mike DelGiudice will continue in the band, Joel said.
