It appears the Billy Joel Band is taking the stage once again ... but this time without Billy Joel. The group announced a concert called "The Music of Billy Joel featuring The Billy Joel Band" at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey, set for Dec. 5. Taking on vocal and piano duties will be band member Michael DelGuidice, who has supported Joel on guitar and backing vocals since 2013.
"Looking forward to this special night celebrating Billy’s music and reuniting with this amazing bunch of musicians and friends!" DelGuidice, who grew up in Miller Place, posted on Facebook.
The band is said to be playing songs from Joel’s catalog focusing on "decades of hits, including ‘Piano Man,’ ‘Uptown Girl,’ ‘My Life,’ ‘Just the Way You Are,’ ‘New York State of Mind’ and ‘We Didn't Start the Fire’," according to the Hard Rock website (casino.hardrock.com/atlantic-city). The venue holds approximately 7,000 people.
Joel, 77, is recovering from brain surgery after being diagnosed in May 2025 with the brain disorder normal pressure hydrocephalus causing him to cancel all his live performances since then.
Tickets for the band's show are on sale via Ticketmaster.com with prices ranging from $64 to $367.20. No other dates have been announced.
