What makes the Long Island rapper’s feat all the more impressive is that he released the record himself and racked up 28,000 in sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan, without any commercial radio play and only underground marketing. “All American” was No. 1 on the iTunes charts early in the week, due to pre-orders and pent-up demand for Allen’s debut, following the popular mixtapes he released for free on his website.

Elsewhere on the chart, Lionel Richie’s “Tuskeegee” moves into the No. 1 spot, climbing three spots on sales of 129,000 last week. The country-themed set got a boost from last week’s CBS special.
