ESPERANZA SPALDING, “Little Fly.” Yes, she is the best new artist. Another stunning victory.
MAVIS STAPLES, “You Are Not Alone.” She won her first Grammy, best Americana album.
PATTY GRIFFIN, “Little Fire.” Griffin won best gospel album for “Downtown Church.”
FANTASIA, “Bittersweet.” Fantasia won best female R&B vocal performance for this.
JOHN LEGEND & THE ROOTS, “Shine.” Legend and The Roots won three Grammys, including best traditional R&B album for “Wake Up!”
