Ke$ha removes tweet after Sandy Hook school shooting

Singer Ke$ha Wednesday removed a tweet she had posted in response to radio stations dropping her single "Die Young" after Friday's school-shooting massacre in Newtown, Conn.
"I understand," she had written Tuesday. "I had my very own issue with 'die young' for this reason. I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO."
The song -- which co-writer Ke$ha, 25, has said is meant to embrace living for today -- includes the chorus, "Let's make the most of the night / like we're gonna die young / We're gonna die young / We're gonna die young."
The dance-pop star did not specify who may have pressured her to sing those lyrics.
The song was produced by Lukasz Gottwald, aka Dr. Luke, and Benjamin Levin, aka Benny Blanco, and co-written by fun. lead singer Nate Ruess.
Last month Ke$ha spoke proudly of writing it, said TMZ.com, which reported that she said in an interview with radio station WPLJ / 95.5: "I definitely make sure that every word rings true to me because I would never want to misrepresent myself to millions of people around the world . . . I wrote and wrote and rewrote that song 10 times."
Ke$ha did not remove a second tweet in which she stated, "I'm so so so sorry for anyone who has been effected by this tragedy. And I understand why my song is now inappropriate. Words cannot express."
Co-producer Blanco tweeted Friday after the shooting: "I love [that] smoking a joint is illegal but a smoking gun is not . . . Thoughts for all the families during this tragedy."
