Rapper Lil Wayne has added a Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater show to his ongoing "Tha Carter VI Tour: Built on 20+ years of Carter Classics" trek. The five-time Grammy Award winner will hit the Wantagh venue's stage on Aug. 12, promoter Live Nation announced Monday. Rappers Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington will open.

The tour celebrates the 21 years since Lil Wayne started his "Tha Carter" album series. The newest, "Tha Carter VI," was released on June 6, the same day the performer played his first-ever solo headlining show at Madison Square Garden. The lengthy tour will launch July 30 in Bristow, Virginia, and end Oct. 2 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

General-public tickets go on sale June 20 at 10 a.m.

The 42-year-old New Orleans native released his first solo album, "Tha Block Is Hot," in 1999 and during his career has collaborated with Drake, Destiny's Child, Jay-Z, Eminem, Birdman and DJ Khaled.

In a September video posted on Instagram, Lil Wayne detailed feeling emotionally devastated after not being selected to headline the halftime show at this year's Super Bowl, which was held in his hometown. (That honor went to Kendrick Lamar.)

Lil Wayne said being overlooked "broke" him, adding that "I’m just trying to put myself back together." Over the years, Wayne has been vocal about his desire to perform during the Big Game's halftime show.
