Mariah announcement? A pregnant pause
Though several websites have reported that she is pregnant, Mariah Carey will formally confirm the news in her own way and time, her husband Nick Cannon tweeted Wednesday.
"If & when my wife is ready to make any announcements about private matters she will do it personally. Thanks for being respectful," the "America's Got Talent" host wrote, adding, "My heart goes out to any woman who has to deal with public scrutiny and speculation pertaining to their private life."
An unnamed "pal" of the couple told Us magazine that the 41-year-old singer is "in the early stages of pregnancy" but, like many mothers-to-be, wants to wait until after the first trimester to announce it. Carey reignited pregnancy rumors on May 25 when she abruptly dropped out of the Tyler Perry film "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf," citing "doctor's orders."
Thursday morning, Cannon, on his "Rollin' with Nick Cannon" radio show, expanded on his tweets. "I'm pretty sure that when my wife is ready to make any announcement, it won't be to the media, to the public, first," he said.
