The calendar still says it's summer 2025 and there are five concerts scheduled through October at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater, and yet the venue has set the first show for next summer: Country singer Riley Green — who just received four CMA nominations — will bring his "Cowboy As It Gets" tour to the Wantagh venue on June 20, 2026, Live Nation announced Tuesday.
In time for the tour's April 16 launch, Green said he expects to have new music out. "We’re going to go into the studio this fall and probably release new music between now and then and then try to have the whole album out around the time the tour starts," he told Billboard, calling from London where he was playing three sold-out shows at the O2 Forum Kentish Town.
The tour takes its name from the title track on the recently released deluxe version of his 2024 album, "Don’t Mind If I Do." "I love the sentiment of that song, and it’s kind of a little bit of an anthemic theme to people that grew up similar to me," Green told Billboard. "We didn’t have a lot of real cowboying going on where I was at. It was just people that I thought were tough or worked with their hands. Those qualities kind of was what made someone a cowboy to me when I was a kid. That was before I wrote the song about my dad, so that’s a pretty good sentiment for a tour name."
General-public tickets go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. via RileyGreenMusic.com/tour.
