Halloween season is the perfect time for the Smashing Pumpkins to haunt UBS Arena at Belmont Park in Elmont with their “Spirits on Fire Tour” arriving there on Oct. 14. Jane’s Addiction will serve as a special guest and Poppy opens the show. This triple bill will also play Madison Square Garden on Oct. 19.

The Pumpkins dominated the '90s starting with their 1991 platinum debut album, “Gish,” followed by the quadruple platinum “Siamese Dream” in 1993. The band released its magnum opus in 1995 with “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” which spawned hit singles like “1979,” “Zero,” “Tonight, Tonight” and “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” causing the album to be certified diamond status (over 10 million copies sold). Platinum success continued with 1998’s “Adore.”

Jane’s Addiction led the alternative revolution with its 1988 landmark album, “Nothing’s Shocking,” featuring the classic, “Jane Says.” But 1990’s “Ritual de lo Habitual” record saw the band reach great heights with the single, “Been Caught Stealing,” which topped Billboard’s U.S. Alternative Songs chart.

Tickets for both shows go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. via ticketmaster.com. Check the Ticketmaster website for various presale opportunities.
