"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," the much-delayed $65-million-plus mega-musical, will now open on June 14, its producers announced Friday.

Also, all previews will be canceled between April 19 and May 11 "to allow rehearsal time for the new changes being implemented in the show," the producers said in a statement.

This is the sixth postponement for the show, which was most recently scheduled to open this coming Tuesday.

On Wednesday, it was announced that director Julie Taymor was out of the day-to-day remake of the show, and that director Philip William McKinley and playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa were hired to make substantial changes to the staging and book. Bono and The Edge are writing at least two new songs.

The show, the most expensive, injury-cursed and technically complex in Broadway history, began performances Nov. 28 and played its record-breaking 103rd preview Friday night.
