'The Avengers' to preview April 14 in select cities

Fans in at least five cities, including New York, may have a chance to see a sneak preview of "Marvel's The Avengers" on Saturday, April 14, nearly three full weeks ahead of the film's May 4 release.
It's a promotional campaign aimed at building buzz through Facebook. Marvel Studios is pitching the early screenings as "rewards" for the cities with the most "Avengers" fans on Facebook, which happen to include the usual major metropolises such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and Houston.
Other cities that build large "Avengers" followings through Facebook are being promised sneak preview screenings as well, though no date has yet been announced.
