The opening of "Between the Lines," the new Off-Broadway musical based on the 2013 bestseller of the same name by Nesconset-raised Jodi Picoult and her daughter, has been delayed due to COVID-19 issues.

The show, which began previews on June 14, will now officially open at the Tony Kiser Theatre at Second Stage on July 11 instead of Sunday as previously announced. On Monday, producers announced the cancellation of performances through the Wednesday matinee after some members within the company tested positive for COVID-19. Previews are set to resume Wednesday night.

"Between the Lines" tells the story of a teenage outsider who finds solace and romance with a dashing prince in the pages of her favorite book. Tickets ($55-$100) can be purchased at betweenthelinesmusical.com.

Picoult will also be on hand for a series of “Meet The Author Nights” in which she'll talk about the show and take questions from audience members. Those talkbacks will take place after the June 29, July 2 and July 23 matinees and the June 30 and July 22-23 evening performances.
