Billy Crystal's upcoming Broadway show "860" has found a home on Broadway and set an opening date.
The one-man show, whose title refers to the house number of the Long Beach-raised comedy icon's Los Angeles home that was destroyed in the Palisades wildfire last year, will begin previews on Oct. 1 at the Imperial Theatre before opening on Oct. 21, producers announced Monday. The 14-week limited engagement runs through Jan. 3.
In a combination of comedic and personal storytelling, the show will take readers through Crystal’s life and memories as he reflects on his Pacific Palisades home, memories and experiences that shaped him.
Crystal, 78, is no stranger to the stage. He made his Broadway debut in 2004 with "700 Sundays," the autobiographical show for which he received a Tony Award. More recently, he revived his 1992 film, "Mr. Saturday Night," as a musical in 2022, earning him Tony nominations for his performance and the show's book.
Tony-nominated director Scott Ellis ("Tootsie," "She Loves Me") will helm "860."
"860 was the address of the home we lost in the Palisades fires," Crystal said in a statement. "We lived there for 46 years. I invite you to come inside 860 and I’ll tell you all the funny and touching things that happened there, not only in my career but to our family. It’s a joyous and heartfelt visit, about how with the love of family and friends and your inner strength, you can get through tough times. I look forward to returning to Broadway and welcoming audiences to 860."
A presale for Audience Rewards members runs through 9:59 a.m. Thursday at audiencerewards.com. Tickets to the general public will be available starting 10 a.m. Thursday at telecharge.com. For more information, go to billycrystal860.com.
