Prince tribute at 'The Color Purple': Jennifer Hudson leads audience in 'Purple Rain' sing-along
Jennifer Hudson, leading the cast of the Broadway musical "The Color Purple," paid tribute to the musician Prince at the show's April 21, 2016 performance.
"Today we lost a legend," she said to the audience. "We would like you all to join us in honoring Prince."
Then, with the help of her cast members, she led the audience in a rendition of "Purple Rain." The audience waved their arms in the air, at times clapping and cheering. The cast drew their arms around each other at the end of the song and some kissed their hands, motioning to the sky above.
