Andrew Garcia is singing "Hound Dog" on "American Idol." Adam Lambert tells him flat-out it was boring, so do something different with it. "He has the potential to be great -- but he needs to step his game up," says Adam.

He's basically playing with the pace, shaping and turning it into almost a jazzy big-band thing. There's some tension here, he's building to something. I like it. There's a nice sense of swing to it and it shows off his tone.

Randy says "that was not good karaoke, didn't like it at all." Ellen wishes there had been more swagger, liked how it was changed up, thought he pulled it off. Kara doesn't think he owned the stage, the mike was your crutch.

Simon rips it -- "lazy, unpredictable," says it wasn't a "star performance." Your coolness is all gone, he tells Andrew.
