Casey James is back in Texas on "American Idol," he's gonna have to sing "Daughters," as picked by Randy and Kara. She tells him he needs to know his audience, and "your audience is women and girls, give it to them."

Great song choice... he sings it well, heartfelt, slow and compelling. It's one of his best efforts this season; song bogs down a bit in the middle, but then he powers out of it, does some nice solo guitar.

Still seems a bit listless, it's just his personality but performers have to project more energy.

Randy says "this fit you like a glove," to tepid applause. Ellen thought it was "beautiful" for him, Kara liked his sensitive, vulnerable side coming out, but not wild praise.

Simon is just laughing, says a better song choice, but "a bit of a lazy arrangement," wanted "a bigger vocal moment."
