Diddy brings his edge and strobe lighting to 'American Idol'

Diddy is performing on "American Idol," premiering "Hello, Good Morning." There's a warning that strobe lighting is about to be used.

It's very Busby Berkeley. Diddy's jittering all in white, he's got the show girls, the elaborate staging, the over-the-top choreography. He's definitely more of an edge to him than Usher.

Strobe lighting kicks in big time, wonder how many people are having seizures right now.

I'd love to see Simon try to rip Diddy. You get the feeling he'd smack him. Runs out into the audience afterward and flexes, hangs out with the judges, and there's a weird man-hug with Simon. There's also mad screaming.

Diddy says afterward he "was nervous" and thanks the show for giving him the chance to perform.
