Hollie Cavanagh just thinking 'don't mess up' on 'American Idol'

Starts out sitting on a stool, looks relaxed; good song choice, I think; shows off her easy, soaring voice. Her problem has always been making an emotional connection with the audience; it's better when she gets up and moves around a bit. And yeah, she just nails the last big note; nice performance.

Oh-oh, "you look beautiful tonight," starts off Jennifer Lopez. Tells her not to try to be perfect, just let it flow more.

"Kind of lay there a little bit for me," says Steven Tyler, oddly. "OK... suddenly very quiet in here," says Randy Jackson. Tells her she wasn't perfect, but was good, "so much better than you were last week."

Easier said than done, but Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet have it down pat. She's too self-aware, could use a bit more of Phillip Phillips' simple self-confidence.
