'Hot in Cleveland" (premiering Wednesday on TV Land), a sitcom about three women from L.A. who decide to stay in the title city, is the latest comedy to take place in the great state of Ohio. Here are five others:

 

"Family Ties" (1982-89) - The generation-gap comedy was set in the state capital, Columbus.

"The Drew Carey Show" (1995-2004) - The stand-up comic set his blue-collar sitcom in his hometown of Cleveland.

"3rd Rock From the Sun" (1996-2001) - In this aliens-among-us sitcom, the High Commander (John Lithgow) transformed himself and his family into the unassuming Solomons who settled in (the fictional town of) Rutherford, Ohio.

"Ed" (2000-04) - When he discovered his wife was cheating on him, New York lawyer Ed Stevens (Tom Cavanagh) moved back to his hometown of Stuckeyville, Ohio, to start his life over.

"Glee" (2009-) - All the teenage sturm und drang takes place at William McKinley High School in Lima.
