James Corden, British comedian, to be the next 'Late Late Show' host, reports say

British comedian and actor James Corden is expected to become the next host of "Late Late Show," succeeding Craig Ferguson who steps down in December after a 10-year run, according to trade reports Tuesday.

Corden, 35, is perhaps best known to U.S. viewers as co-star and creator of Hulu's cult hit, "The Wrong Mans," and a cast member of the 2006 movie "The History Boys." More prominently, he's a 2012 Tony Award winner for his starring role in "One Man, Two Guvnors," which originated in the UK before a Broadway run. (Corden beat out Philip Seymour Hoffman, James Earl Jones, Frank Langella and John Lithgow for the award.) Corden has also won a pair of BAFTAs -- Britain's counterpart to the Emmys -- for his BBC Three romcom, "Gavin & Stacey."

CBS declined to comment on the reports Tuesday.
