Four young women - you shall know them by their first names only - were all raised on Long Island and, save for one, have left for Manhattan. They're wealthy, or appear to be, are hugely into fashion, bling, good times, the Hamptons, guys, partying, shoes, shopping and Girls Nights Out.

Veronique (who still lives at home on Long Island, though you never learn exactly where) has personality in abundance. Think Fran Drescher. Pamela is a bit haughty and truly dislikes Rachel, a singer-songwriter (she's sold some songs to "America's Next Top Model," which seems perfect in this context), and actually seems kind of sweet. Finally, there's Lauren, a photographer, who throws a birthday party for Rachel and has father issues. She describes herself as a "Pizza Bagel" - Mom, Italian, Dad, Jewish. OK, there are a couple of L.I. touches but not many - a quick trip to the clothing store Max & Gino's (the location is not revealed) and the Port Washington Yacht Club.

Upon recently learning of this show, my first reaction was " 'Jersey Shore'-meets-Jewish American Princesses, and from Long Island no less." This is understandable, considering that something like that is actually in development. But the only thing offensive about "Long Island Princesses Unleashed" is its utter disregard for originality. You, me and pretty much the rest of the planet have already seen this show, or shows like it, thanks to Bravo. Their casts always seem to go to Meatpacking District clubs like RDV or the Boom Boom Room, or end up at fancy spas. It's a wonder the competing camera crews aren't bumping into one another all the time.

BOTTOM LINE Don't get too attached - E! says "Princesses" will last just one edition, barely enough time to get to know these ladies. The one show we'll see feels very, very slight.
