The hourlong program in the entertaining yet informational "True Life" series follows Jonny and Brittany's seaside foibles as they struggle to fit in while hanging at some of the East End's most iconic spots, from Bridgehampton Polo to Neptune's to the Southampton Inn.

Jonny is a 24-year-old staying with his grandmother in Hampton Bays. He's embarrassed by his low-rent Mitsubishi but hates the moneyed social scene out East. He just wants to make some quick money as a waiter at the "snooty, elitist nonsense socialite parties" he has to work at so that he can fulfill his dream of pursuing a music career out West. The only problem, he points out, is that, "Unfortunately, summer is the best time to party." And after seeing him make the moves on tipsy girls in bikinis at beach bars, let's just say he's looking for love in all the wrong places.

Then there's Brittany, a gal from Queens who started a gossip website and spent the high season blogging about the social scene. The problem for her, the 24-year-old says, is that's she's black. "I feel like people are waiting for me to do something that is characterized by my ethnicity, whatever that means," she says. Too bad she's come with Ashleigh, a self-described "sarcastic, over-the-top, witty" rich girl "who doesn't really care what you think." Let's just say her presence doesn't help Brittany blend in the way she wants to at parties.

MY SAY: The best part of this MTV doc is watching a nervous Jonny driving to a job interview - as he bites his nails and spits them out the car window. Classy!

BOTTOM LINE: Whatever happens to Jonny and Brittany? You'll want to watch, see and cringe a little.
