Jackie Evancho, a 10-year-old from Pittsburgh, chosen by YouTube users, wowed the judges of "America's Got Talent" with her powerful performance of an opera aria.

Evancho's rendition of "O Mio Babbino Caro" from Giacomo Puccini's one-act opera "Gianni Schicchi," moved judges Howie Mandel, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne to superlatives. "That is one of the most extraordinary performances I've ever seen on 'America's Got Talent,' " Morgan said. A stunned Osbourne added, "I've never seen anything like that," and host Nick Cannon told People magazine, "That was the best performance I have ever seen on this show."

Evancho has been performing professionally since at least last year, and has sung the national anthem at the 2010 Pittsburgh Pirates home opener and at a United Flight 93 memorial service, among other venues. She has a self-produced CD, "Prelude to a Dream," and is among the many vocalists scheduled to perform in a Dec. 2 concert by composer-conductor Tim Janis, "The American Christmas Carol," at Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium.
