"The Evil Dead" -- one of the great camp horror films in camp horror film history -- is coming back as a TV series, courtesy of Starz. And just to answer the question everyone will have: Yes, Bruce Campbell is reprising Ash, the luckless lothario who brought his girlfriend to a remote cabin in the woods only to witness...well, let's just say this didn't turn out to be a dream date.

Also, this headline: Sam Raimi, who directed the 1981 original (there was an even schlockier sequel in '87) is on board for the pilot.

Here's the release, which should answer a few more questions:

"The STARZ Original series officially titled “Ash Vs. Evil Dead” will be 10 half-hour episodes. Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its 'Evi' grip."

It arrives in 2015, and may I be the first to say: I can hardly wait. Seriously.

By the way, there have been four "Evil Deads" over the decades -- the last one just last year, the first one, as mentioned, in '81.
