Here's some big news for fans of Dunder Mifflin and all things related to "The Office": The spinoff is coming to Peacock on Sept. 4.
It's called "The Paper," but it trades the paper company of the original for a fictional newspaper in Ohio. The show, which will retain the mockumentary format, is about the lives of the volunteer reporters trying to save the place.
Stars include Domhnall Gleeson ("Star Wars"), Sabrina Impacciatore ("The White Lotus" Season 2), Melvin Gregg ("Nine Perfect Strangers"), Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young and others.
There's at least one returning cast member who has made their way over from Scranton: Oscar Nuñez, who is returning as Oscar Martinez.
According to Vulture, "The Paper" will take place sometime after Nuñez’s character, who’s now working at the newspaper, seemingly lost the state Senate position he was running for at the end of "The Office."
"The Paper" will also keep the same documentary crew, who went from Scranton to Ohio, as the narrative follows the lives of the volunteer reporters.
Four episodes launch on Sept. 4, followed by two new ones each Thursday through Sept. 25.
"The Office" ran on NBC from 2005 to 2013, following the British version starring Ricky Gervais. It's one of the most beloved TV comedies of all time, having amassed numerous awards and positions on "greatest show" lists from publications such as Rolling Stone.
It made stars out of Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, among others.
