TV on DVD: 'Party Down' caters to all comic tastes
PARTY DOWN: SEASON ONE
Series Is this our best current comedy? Simultaneously sharp, nutty and warm, it's the single-camera saga of Hollywood caterer-waiters serving private parties while seeking their big breaks. The half-dozen smartly played regulars - faded commercial spokesman, cynical screenwriter, droll female comedian, dim male model/actor/ rocker - move weekly through an entirely different crowd (sweet 16 party, young Republicans, porn awards). Great guest stars, too: Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni, J.K. Simmons, Marilu Henner, Ken Jeong. Second Starz season starts April 23 with Megan Mullally replacing Jane Lynch (gone to "Glee").
Extras Behind-the-scenes, commentaries, more.
List price $30 for 10 episodes, out from Starz.
