Verne Gay: Arsenio returning to late-night
Hall returning to late-night'Celebrity Apprentice" winner Arsenio Hall is returning to the late-night talk-show game, this time in tandem with Tribune and CBS, reports Newsday's Verne Gay. His new show will launch in the fall of 2013 on Tribune stations, including WPIX/11 here, the partners announced Monday. Hall's old talk show launched Jan. 3, 1989, and ended five years later, May 27, 1994. A combination of music, stars and Hall's charm, the show caught the attention of Johnny Carson and presidential candidate Bill Clinton, who played his sax on a 1992 show. But ratings ebbed, and Paramount pulled the plug.
