Peter Murphy as The Cold One

The "Twilight" franchise is boosting its goth-culture credibility by casting Peter Murphy in a cameo as The Cold One in the upcoming "Eclipse."

Murphy is the frontman for Bauhaus, whose 1979 single "Bela Lugosi's Dead" essentially invented Goth-rock. In the space of about five years, with albums like "The Sky's Gone Out" and a galvanizing appearance in Tony Scott's 1983 vampire film "The Hunger," Bauhaus set the tone, mood, look and sound of Goth for the next thirty years. Whatever bands you're moping around to these days, they're not fit to carry Murphy's compact.

Speaking of makeup, that's a cell-phone snapshot, above, that Murphy took of himself in his trailer.
