Floyd Bennett Field is a national park on Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn and it offers many activities for you to do with your family this fall. One of the activities that Floyd Bennett Field has is boating. Canoeing and kayaking are available in the fall. For protection of the wildlife you will not be able to go into salt marshes nor any islands in Jamaica Bay. Another activity is bird watching. Bird watching is a creative fun activity to do with your family. Many birds nest here, which is why it’s a great opportunity to go bird watching.

Kids love it to go bicycling. Bicycling is a great way to exercise and it’s fun to do with family. It’s also a great way to get around this beautiful park.

All that stuff is great, but one of the best adventures is camping at the park. It costs a bit of money to reserve a spot, but it is worth it. What you are required to bring: a tent for your family and sleeping bags. What not to bring: Glass containers or pets. All campsites include a picnic table and a grill — restrooms and showers are nearby. There is a camp store if you want to buy anything, such as firewood, coffee, water and/or snacks. The camp also allows fishing, but you are required to bring your own equipment. Floyd Bennett Field also offers horseback riding lessons. Sports played at Floyd Bennett Field are archery and football. People come over to see the teams play, and it promotes Floyd Bennett Field.

It is located at 50 Aviation Rd., Brooklyn. For more about this park and other city parks: nyharborparks.org
