Bill Nye the Science Guy is coming to Long Island on Monday, April 3, to talk about the new middle-grade book he’s written with co-author Gregory Mone called “Jack and the Geniuses: At the Bottom of the World.”
From 7 to 9 p.m. on April 3 Nye will be at Book Revue, 313 New York Ave., Huntington.
“Jack and the Geniuses: At the Bottom of the World” (Amulet, $13.95) is the first book in what will be a “Jack and the Geniuses” series featuring real-world science along with action and a mystery.
Readers will meet 12-year-old Jack and his foster siblings, Ava and Matt, who are orphans. But they’re not your typical orphans — they’re geniuses. Ava speaks multiple languages and builds robots for fun, and Matt is into astronomy and a whiz at math.
In this book, the kids travel to Antarctica. The book includes a science project about density that kids can do at home.
Nye is a science educator and mechanical engineer known for his Emmy Award-winning syndicated television show, “Bill Nye the Science Guy.”
The second book in the series, “Jack and the Geniuses: In the Deep Blue Sea,” is due out in September.
