Have you ever had to have someone baby-sit you, or have you ever gone to after-school day care? I have, because I have been going to day care at someone’s home for more than 10 years.

A lot of people may have different feelings on this. I have mixed feelings myself: sometimes I love it, other times I don’t enjoy it as much. My day care person’s name is Miss Kelly, and she has three sons who are now all young adults. She also had two dogs. One that passed away was named Jake. The other’s name was Jackson, but when her son moved, Jackson went with him, and all the kids at day care miss him.

I made my first friends ever at day care when I was 2, Charlotte and Elaina, who both are just a little bit older than me. In total there are four babies, seven toddlers and five older school-age children at the day care.

Miss Kelly watches us at her home. It has two bedrooms, a basement, kitchen and living room. The playroom for all the children has moved to different rooms in the house, and Miss Kelly is always adding to and upgrading the room. One of the really cool things I like at Miss Kelly’s is the indoor swing that she puts in her doorway in the kitchen.

One of the best things about being an older kid at day care is that I can help out with the younger kids. Overall, I’ve learned how to bond with the babies, hold them, feed them with a bottle and make them happy.

And that’s my awesome day care.
