Hoopin' it up for basketball

Two of the most popular sports for boys and girls are soccer and basketball. But if you had to choose to play just one, which one would you pick? I asked 33 kids in my grade that question and this is what I found out:
Basketball: 23
Soccer: 10
As you can see, basketball was the big winner. The NBA has a great fan base, but so does soccer. Can you fit 114,000 fans in a basketball arena like you can with some soccer matches? But basketball has a long season and NBA games average almost 18,000 fans. I think the fan base is about the same.
Here is what a lot of kids like about basketball. The players still get paid even if they are out of the game, and they make a lot of money. In soccer, the players might not make as much. So the downside is that soccer players make a little less, but it is better than not getting paid at all.
