We had the best day ever. We went to visit the Knicks City Dancers at their rehearsal studio in Manhattan and interviewed two of the dancers, Criscia Richardson and Latoya Brooks, and then after that we actually were able to practice some of their dance steps with them.

What made you decide you wanted to be a Knicks dancer?

Criscia: I'm from New York, so I've always been a Knicks fan as my dad was a Knicks fan, my whole entire family were Knicks fans. We went to Knicks games and I got to watch the Knicks City Dancers when I was your age. It's always been a dream of mine to like just be out on court with them.

Latoya: I also grew up as a Knicks fan and I knew I wanted to dance down in New York City so I thought the two went together perfectly and I adored the Knicks City Dancers and the team.

Have you ever messed up during your performance?

Criscia: Yes, actually, and you know what? I kept smiling and I kept going and it was fine.

What do you do when the Knicks season is over?

Criscia: We actually are still working while the Knicks aren't playing. We do promos, we do appearances.

Latoya: We have the Garden of Dreams Foundation. It's where we help kids facing obstacles, we do hospital visits, we do dance classes, we have field days for them. So even when the Knicks are off season we're still in season.

Can you hear the fans calling your names over the music?

Criscia: Yes absolutely. We hear them clapping for us. It's so exciting. That's the best part.

Have you ever tried to play basketball?

Criscia: I tried to play basketball once and it wasn't very pretty so I kept my dancing shoes on.

Latoya: I just stuck to dance.

What do you like most about being a Knicks City Dancer?

Latoya: My favorite part about being a Knicks City Dancer is being able to dance at Madison Square Garden. It's the world's most famous arena, it's the Mecca of New York, it's amazing to look out and be surrounded by all the Knicks fans.

How old do you have to be a Knicks City Dancer?

Criscia: You have to be at least 18 years old.
