Looking for things to do with the kids this weekend? From making gingerbread houses to seeing holiday performances and more, there's much to do on Long Island. Here are my top five picks for family-friendly activities this weekend:

Gingerbread House Workshop at Children's Museum of the East End (376 Bridgehampton Sag Harbor Tpke., Bridgehampton) on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids can decorate their own gingerbread house. Appropriate for children ages 2 and up. Price: $30 per gingerbread house.

Game Day at Long Island Science Center (11 W. Main St., Riverhead) on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children can exercise their brains by playing fun games based in science and math. Price: $5.

Holiday Weekend at Planting Fields Arboretum's Coe Hall (1395 Planting Fields Rd., Oyster Bay) on Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids can visit Santa and see a holiday performance. "Scrooge" runs on Saturday and "Jack Frost" runs on Sunday. Price: $10.

Frosty the Snowman at CM Performing Arts Center (931 Montauk Hwy., Oakdale) on Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. Kids can enjoy a musical performance of the holiday classic about a snowman that comes to life. Price: $12.

Craft-a-Card at Old Westbury Gardens (71 Old Westbury Rd., Old Westbury) on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids can create holiday cards to give to family and friends. Price: Free with admission.
