Calvin Klein: Loose, languid . . . and all-out glam
Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa elevated the minimalist trend to high art at his knockout Thursday afternoon show where, despite that fact that the garments hung loose — barley grazing the body — looks simmered with all-out sexiness.
Silk racer-back tops and dresses featured deep cuts around the arm and into the back (va-va-va-voom), while slouchy suits with four-pocket jackets (how handy!) boasted a retro Hollywood glam, though the proportion — cropped, double layered, blousy – looked fresh.
Expected neutral shades — pearl, chalk, straw with some dark blue, a bit of black — all there.
Unexpected – the vibrant modish coral dress, and a few pops of ocean blue.
Harper’s Bazaar editor in chief Glenda Bailey said, “I loved it. It really summed up the vision of new minimalism. There was such clarity and beauty.” Speaking of beauty, Katie Holmes, who was in the house, will look great in this stuff.
