Cushnie et Ochs: Sizzling sex appeal

There’s no denying that Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs' focused collection show at Milk Studios on Friday afternoon exuded an aggressive sexuality — this for the woman who will break your heart and make you beg while she’s doing it. Enter Karlie Kloss, the show’s opener, strutting a white asymmetrical crepe bandage dress that fit better than a glove.
And so it went in mostly black and white — skin-tightness raised to high art — with S&M details no less: clasps, chokers, buckles … even one black, stamped snake number called out in program notes as “a restraint dress.” Bathing suits — one, a white string bikini — with an extra string wrapped around the models rib cage was a heart stopper. An ivory, shrunken-leather motorcycle jacket had organza set into the sleeves — fab.
Other than the neutral solids, there was a scribble print and a lush pop of purple, the show closer, a caftan-esque, silky knotted gown that had a bit of volume, allowing the model to exhale.
Bottom line, bodies beautiful will stun in this collection. The rest of us can just enjoy the view.
