We all want the holiday gifts we give to be cool, yes? Don’t know about you, but for me, that sometimes means hours of browsing online, or on foot.

This season, the Gap has done a lot of the legwork for us. The retailer has teamed up with the very cool people behind The Cool Hunter to open a holiday pop-up stocked with, yes, very cool things. You’ll find it at the Gap gallery space next to its flagship Manhattan store (Fifth Avenue at 54th Street).

First off, get rid of any thoughts about this stuff having anything to do with what you’d normally find at a Gap store. The Cool Hunting crew has scoured the metropolitan area for gifts that have a decidely creative edge to them. Look for things like skateboards covered in kimono fabric, foods like tea and chocolate bars, some lovely little terrariums, a small selection of jewelry, even matching collars and leashes for the family dog.

The shop’s scheduled to be open through Jan. 2, but much of the merchandise is limited so get there early. And check out special events at the store on the Gap Facebook page.
