The royals may have caused a frenzy in Tinseltown over the weekend, but from a fashion standpoint, the new Duchess of Cambridge kept it calm, cool and collected.
The newlywed wore only one American designer on her first U.S. visit -- a green silk number backed with small gold buttons by Diane von Furstenberg. But all her choices were fresh and pretty, including the pastel cowl-neck sheath by London-based Roksanda Ilincic she wore off the plane Friday.
For the Saturday polo match starring her Prince William, Kate donned a printed silk Jenny Packham dress. She changed for the evening into a lilac chiffon confection from Alexander McQueen, cinched at the waist with a sparkly belt.
Before the whirlwind visit concluded yesterday, The Duke and Duchess saw Los Angeles' less-glamorous side, visiting a school in the city's notorious Skid Row area. Still, Catherine didn't let up on the glamour, looking chic in a navy crocheted top and white pleated skirt by the British company Whistles.
