Wu-hoo! Jason Wu’s collection for Target hits the stores Feb. 5

In late January, hundreds of fashion VIPs gathered at the vast Skylight Soho space in Manhattan for a preview of and chance to buy designer Jason Wu’s new, limited- edition collection of apparel and accessories for Target. And if the line at the cash registers was any indication – easily 500 deep – the crisp, coquettish groupings of Wu-wear are going to sell-out at retail much like many of Target’s collaborations before it. (Anybody remember Missoni for Target?)
And now it’s your turn: the collection hits Target stores on February 5. Prices range from $19.99 to $59. 99. Among our favorite items: a linen-y structured handbag, scarves, a fancy black dress with a peek-a-boo petticoat and a fab navy raincoat with floral trim – Gossip Girl Blake Lively wore it to the party. But here’s the deal: it’s in stores only through March 6, or while supplies last! Yikes!
Here are the Long Island stores that will carry the collection: Commack, Copiague, Elmhurst, Farmingdale, Hicksville, Levittown, Medford, Riverhead and Westbury. You can preview it now at Target.com. Kind of crazy to think that you’ll soon own something designed by the guy who created the First Lady’s inaugural gown isn’t it?
